Normally, spring dresses are all about the florals. (If you can get Miranda Priestley saying "Florals? For spring? Groundbreaking," out of your head, that is.) But with the rise of prairie dresses, shoppers have opened their hearts and their closets to puffy sleeves, vintage-inspired prints, and other trends every season. For 2019, there's another "It" style on the horizon, which combines different elements from great spring dress trends past: nostalgic patterns, soft colors, and prime Instagram-ability.

Toile-print dresses have been popping up everywhere since Selena Gomez wore an Oscar de la Renta two-piece last summer. "Toile" is a type of decorating, when a repeated pattern of a complex scene—normally something pastoral—is depicted against a white or off-white background. The graphic is charming like a floral, but has the same vintage vibe as your favorite prairie dress. And you can find it on everything from oversized silhouettes to strappy minis.

The latest wave of "It" dresses luckily don't necessarily have to cost a couple thousand dollars: You can find it everywhere from Urban Outfitters to Tory Burch. If want an alternative to the prairie trend but are tired of the same-old florals, toile-print dresses are a happy medium that aren't absolutely everywhere yet (just yet). Shop the best ones, ahead.

Midi dresses are an all year round kind of look, but the season in which they truly spring to life has to be summer. After all, nothing complements a vibrant print like bare legs. But finding a midi dress that suits you can be a logistical nightmare. Some people don't like stripes; others can't stand flowing floral styles. And if you're on the petite side, the chances of it turning into a maxi dress are pretty high. Despite all of those potential problems, I guarantee one of the following midi summer dresses will capture your eye.

There's shirt dresses for work days, satin slip designs for casual weekends, and too many patterns to mention. And you can't forget the array of sleeve options. 'You only get one prom:' Nonprofit donates prom dresses to teens - News 12 Long Island

HEMPSTEAD -

A local nonprofit is giving away free prom dresses to Long Islanders in need.

The group, Women Of Integrity, set up shop in the recreation center at Kennedy Memorial Park in Hempstead to give out donated dresses to those who might not be able to buy one themselves.

Every girl gets to pick out two dresses, one for prom and one for graduation. And to top it off, they get two pairs of shoes -- all for free.

A DJ played music so the girls could shop to a beat and a makeup artist helped them with beauty tips so they look their best for the big night.

"I was so anxious because prom, it's a big event," says Alyssa Furline. "You only get one high school prom in your life, and this one is mine."

This is the ninth year Women Of Integrity has held the Prom Dress Giveaway.

Having your dog be a part of your wedding is not a new trend. In fact, many dog owners likely feel that your best friend's inclusion should be mandatory. But your lovable pooch can now help you seal the deal in style and officially be included, dress and all, in quite possibly the most adorable bridal party ever. 

The Posh Paws Company makes wedding attire for dogs so your canine partner can be fabulous with the rest of your guests.

"Why not complete your day by including your pooch in the bridal party, as one of your bridesmaids?" the description says on The Posh Paws Company Etsy page. 

The gowns are handmade with a finished shoulder gathered with frills, giving the impression of fitted sleeves. 

There are 12 different colors to choose from and each dress varies in size and price depending on the taste of everyone's favorite guest of honor. 
 
Another Etsy company, Creatture, also manufactures dog tuxedos for the groom to match the bride. 

Each tux includes four bow ties and is handmade. Every order also comes with instructions for fastening the bow tie, making sure the garment fits your pet perfectly. 

Dozens of girls treated to free prom dresses, shoes and jewelry - News 12 Brooklyn

A Parkside Preparatory Academy alum is holding a free prom dress giveaway for Brooklyn students.

Jessica Deleon, founder of Make It Gorjess, says she wanted to give back to families in need because she knows how many of them have trouble paying for prom and graduation.

She says she had the idea after attending a prom dress giveaway a few years ago.

"I said 'one day when I'm able to, I'm going to have a prom dress giveaway for girls in my community, underprivileged girls so that I can be able to help them out and be a blessing to them,'" Deleon says.

More than 100 girls from the borough were able to pick out a prom dress, shoes and jewelry. They were also treated to free manicures and makeup.

Deleon says she wants the event to be held annually for years to come.
