From flags to undergarments, musicians get a lot of items chucked at them while they're on stage—and Justin Bieber is no exception.
At a recent stop in New Jersey, Bieber responded to the long tradition of fans flinging their precious things at him with an unexpected comment.
"Take this moment to listen and try not to get give me a hat or whatever you're trying to throw on stage right now, because I probably don't want that shit," he told the Beliebers.
"Sorry, that was mean," he immediately said.
He continued, mentioning that he was in the zone and the hat really threw him out of it, before launching into an inspirational monologue.
Fans also posted footage of Bieber apologizing for the comments later in the show, adding that the fan "ruined the moment."
This isn't the first time that Bieber has had an uncomfortable brush with fan gifts. In Argentina, Bieber was accused of throwing a flag back in the face of a fan.
