MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A creative 9-year-old Macomb County girl decided to make her passion for making clothing for Barbie dolls into a business and her designs have gotten attention of a big name company.

Nevaeh Woods started making doll clothes out of whatever items she could get her hands on and now her creations are getting noticed by the Barbie Mattel team.

"When I grow up, I want to be a fashion designer," Neveah said.

In a way, she already is a fashion designer. She makes clothes for her Barbie dolls out of everyday items like ribbon, socks and scissors.

Her mother, Sha'kvia Woods watches and encourages her daughter, but they still took her by surprise.

"I just took pictures of them, so I was really amazed," Woods said. "I shared it to Facebook and then I got a lot of my friends say make this public and when I made it public it just went viral."

Her designs caught the attention of Mattel, the maker of Barbie.

"Barbie sent me this amazing box, but we don't know what's inside it yet. Today we're going to find out," Neveah said.

Inside the box were plenty of new Barbies to style.

"It made me feel special because I'm achieving my goal to be a fashion designer and that's what I really want to do," Neveah said. "So I can be famous and make stuff and encourage people to follow their dreams."

Nevaeh is starting her own business called SaSha Sew Amazing and she wants to encourage other girls to follow their dreams.

Grand jury indicts mother of two children found dead in Temple home. - KCENTV.com

TEMPLE, Texas — The mother of two children who were found dead in a Temple home in September has been indicted on two counts of abandoning or endangering a child with imminent danger of death or bodily injury by a Bell County Grand Jury.

Thirty-six-year-old Terrikah Haynes was arrested in October, just days after the children were found.

The bodies of 2-year-old Teric Boyd and 1-year-old Janea Boyd were found in a home in the 1500 block of S. 35th Street after the Salvation Army asked Temple police for a welfare check.

According to the arrest affidavit, a neighbor told the officer checking on the family that Haynes and her children had not been seen for days. After knocking on the front and back doors, the officer looked through a window and smelled "the odor of decay." The neighbor told the officer he smelled the same odor.

The officer called for a supervisor then saw a bedroom window that was broken from the inside. The officer removed the screen and shade and saw a "very young child who appeared to be very frightened" next to a woman lying on the floor, the affidavit said.

The officer climbed through the window and moved the 4- and 6-year-old girls to a bed, according to the affidavit. Haynes was conscious, would not speak, and appeared to have dilated pupils, the affidavit said. Teric and Janea were found dead.

The officer gave the two girls water before they were taken to McLane Children's Hospital.

Arrest records said safety bolts in the home were locked from the inside, and the home had no electricity or running water. The water had been disconnected since Sept. 3, according to the document.

The affidavit said the officer saw empty 2-liter bottles of soda and juice boxes throughout the house, but "there was nothing to drink." The only food in the house was a few bags of dried beans and uncooked rice with no way to prepare them.

The temperature inside the home was 87 degrees, according to the thermostat. The weather in the previous few days had been in the mid- to high 90s, the affidavit said.

According to investigators, Teric and Janea had been dead for more than a day or two and their bodies were decomposing.

The officer reported that the toilet in the home was full of waste. The tub did not appear to have been recently used and had coffee beans in it, the affidavit said.

Another officer who met the children at the hospital reported that the two girls' clothes smelled like decay and trash. The officer said the children also appeared to be thirsty and hungry. The girls described "living on fruit snacks," the affidavit said.

Update: In a Facebook post Wednesday morning, Niki Ramirez said Minnie the doll was found in a pile of clothes in the family's home. The family had previously searched the house "top to bottom and even took the mattresses out of the twins' room and didn't find her," Ramirez wrote. "We are human!! We live a crazy life and this just goes along with it. In the end all that matters is my daughter has her beloved Minnie back in her arms and now can rest easy." Ramirez thanked everyone who helped search for Minnie and shared her initial Facebook post, which went viral with more than 62,000 shares. To prevent a future missing mouse report, the family plans to have Minnie microchipped, Ramirez wrote.
