Collector of contemporary art, the billionaire Charles Saatchi announced the divorce with his wife, renowned chef Nigel Lawson. The reason for the divorce was, according to Charles, that Nigel could not protect him in the public eye after the press got pictures of their quarrel.
Which have become infamous, spat occurred about a month ago. Just over lunch in a restaurant, Charles began to shout at her, then grabbed her by the throat, which shocked not only her, but all the witnesses spats.
Saatchi told the press:
I regret report that Nigel Lawson and I divorced. I feel that I was an absolute disappointment for Nigel last year or so. I myself was disappointed that she was advised not to comment publicly to explain that I - opponent of violence against women, and never inflicted physical harm.
The couple have been married for 10 years and, according to Saatchi, the divorce was not an easy both:
